About Me
Discussing intimate sexual and relationship issues with a new therapist can feel daunting, so here’s a little about me to help ease that first step.
I’m Candice, a Psychosexual and Relationship Therapist. My role is to help people untangle the complex feelings around sex, relationships, and self-worth. Whether sex has started to feel like a chore, you and your partner are struggling to connect, or past shame is preventing you from enjoying intimacy - know that you’re not alone.
Talking about sex and relationships can be difficult, so I offer a warm, down-to-earth, and uncensored space to explore these safely and freely. No topic is too taboo, and no question is too small. Whether you're looking to rebuild connection with your partner, work through past experiences, or reconnect with yourself sexually, we’ll take things at a pace that feels right for you.
My goal is to create a safe, confidential space where you feel genuinely heard and supported. With warmth and compassion, I work collaboratively with you to help you reach your personal goals.
My approach is integrative, meaning I tailor each session to suit your specific needs. I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Developmental Psychotherapy for couples, helping you lean into discomfort and foster a deeper emotional connection. Whether we’re exploring how past experiences shape your relationships today - using tools like Attachment Theory or Transactional Analysis - or applying practical strategies and homework exercises from CBT, the focus will always be on what’s most relevant to you in the moment.
I prioritise respect, inclusivity, and empowerment, welcoming individuals of all gender identities, sexual orientations, erotic desires, and relationship structures. With a background in humanitarian work and supporting victims of sexual abuse, I offer a warm and inclusive environment for individuals from all cultures and experiences. My commitment to diversity ensures that everyone feels valued and understood in our sessions.
Above all, therapy with me is collaborative. There’s no rigid formula—just a flexible, supportive space where we explore what you need at your own pace.
If any of this resonates with you, feel free to reach out by emailing contact@candicewesttherapy.co.uk - there’s no pressure. Just a space to see if I’m the right therapist for you.
